When firms offer remote working, it shows you two things.
One, they trust their staff. And two, they're committed to hiring the best. Not just the best who happen to live within twenty minutes of the office.
And hiring the best is important to this firm. They’re an influential, award winning modern financial planning practice. They’ve seen impressive client/AUM growth since setting up and long had the right idea when it comes to hiring and retaining their employees.
Firstly they nurture and develop people. The reason for this job is because of internal promotion for example.
Secondly they empower and trust their staff. Sure they expect competence and consciousness in return, but work for a firm like this, and you'll always have their backing.
They also reward people fairly. This job comes with a salary to £31,000, a performance related bonus of up to 10% of salary, 25 days holiday (that grows with service) and a 7% pension contribution. They also gladly pay exam/training costs.
Finally they know exactly who they are and exactly what the vision is. They have ambitions but will always be a small, independent boutique firm with a focus on quality. And with founders under 40, you can be sure of longevity, particularly because this firm isn’t set up to sell.
As for the job itself it’s more than a typical administrative position. You’ll be front and centre when it comes to client relationships, their first point of contact. And with a varied client base no two days will ever be the same. You’ll also prepare your planner for meetings, onboard new clients and process new business.
In short you're the glue that holds everything together. Administrators are often overlooked and undervalued but that's not the ethos here.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
You’ll need 3+ years experience as an administrator in a financial planning practice (IFA or restricted).
You’ll learn from day one and they’ll always offer progression, but you’ll also be happy in the role for 18-24 months and won’t want to become a financial planner.
Ideally you’ll have experience of working on a remote basis. Working on a remote basis is a challenge, so consciousness and self-starting qualities are needed.
You’ll also see your career as more than just a job. You’ll either work for or want to work for a financial planning firm with a modern approach and client first focus.
You can live anywhere but will need to be available for meet ups in the South West of England on a quarterly basis.
